North End, West End, East & South, Central — one edition, several, or citywide.

Your logo, your offer, your website and phone number, and any images you want used.

  4. 04

    Approve your proof

Four parts of Peterborough.
One citywide option.

Buy the part of the city your customers are in, or take all four in the same mailing.

The four Peterborough Local editions An illustrative map of Peterborough with the Otonabee River running north to south through it, Little Lake on the river below the downtown, and the Chemong Road, Parkhill Road, Lansdowne Street, Clonsilla Avenue and Highway 115 corridors marked for orientation. The city is divided into four distribution editions: North End across the top, West End and Central below it on the west side of the river, and East and South covering the far side of the river and the south end. Each is labelled with its delivery point and route count. The shapes are drawn for orientation and are not survey boundaries. Illustrative. The Otonabee and Little Lake are where they are; the edition outlines are drawn for orientation and do not trace municipal boundaries or Canada Post route geometry. Exact route selections are confirmed for each mailing.

Counts are Canada Post delivery points on the selected Neighbourhood Mail routes — houses, apartment units and businesses, plus some surrounding rural delivery. Route selections are confirmed for each mailing.

Roughly 74–81% houses in North End, West End and East & South. Audience composition differs by edition. Central carries noticeably more apartments and businesses than the other three.

Choose your space.

What a larger placement buys is space and position. It does not buy more exclusivity — every placement here, including the smallest, closes your category for the edition it runs in.

Your ad can carry a unique trackable QR code, so you can see how many people scan it from your Peterborough Local mailing. We set up the tracking and send you a results summary after the drop — on every placement, at no extra charge.

Scans measure engagement with the code itself, not every response to the ad. The FAQ sets out what that does and does not capture.

Per edition, per mailing, in Canadian dollars. HST extra. Two or three areas are priced at the single-edition rate for each area. Citywide is all four in the same mailing for three times the single-edition rate.

Every placement includes category exclusivity for its edition, ad design, a proof before printing, and Canada Post distribution.

Cost per delivery point is the placement price divided by the delivery points on the routes you buy. A single edition is shown as a range because the four editions differ in size, from 9,044 to 9,769 delivery points. Citywide divides across all 37,655, which is why it is the lowest rate per delivery point at every size.

Per thousand delivery points, that is $76.77–$82.93 at the Standard rate for one edition, and $59.75 citywide.

A local publication, not a bundle of coupons.

6″ × 11″ oversized card, printed both sides. Large enough that a Premier placement reads from across a kitchen counter, small enough that nobody is competing with twenty other ads.

Reach a whole part of Peterborough without paying for the whole mailing.

A business mailing 9,769 of its own postcards into the north end pays for the entire print run and the entire drop.

A shared card splits that physical cost across several non-competing local businesses. You still get your own placement, your own offer, your own call to action and your category closed to competitors. You are just not carrying the mailing alone.

The print run, the postage and the Canada Post drop are one bill, split between the businesses on the card. You buy a placement, not a mailing.

Your own solo mailing

One business pays for the whole card, the whole print run and the whole drop.

A shared edition

You pay for your placement. The rest belongs to businesses that are not competing with you — and cannot be, because your category is closed.

One business per category.

Each Peterborough Local edition carries one business per category. If North End HVAC is sold, another HVAC business cannot buy North End for that mailing — but the category stays open in West End, East & South and Central until someone takes it.

Every category below is open right now. This is a new publication, so nothing has been claimed yet. Whichever category you are in, you can still be the only one in it.

A category closes only when a reservation is paid. Reserving the February edition at the same time as November is the only way to be sure a competitor does not take it in between. Don't see your category? Ask — the list grows as businesses enquire.

The things people ask first.

What is a delivery point?

It is any address Canada Post delivers to on the selected routes — a house, an apartment unit, or a business. We publish delivery points rather than households because that is what the route data actually counts, and the two are not the same number.

How many addresses receive each edition?

North End is 9,769 delivery points across 28 routes. West End is 9,044 across 21 routes. East & South is 9,429 across 16 routes. Central is 9,413 across 24 routes. Citywide is all four together: 37,655 delivery points across 89 routes.

Can another business from my industry advertise?

Not in the same category on the same edition once your reservation is confirmed. If North End HVAC is sold, no other HVAC business can buy North End for that mailing. The same category stays open in West End, East & South and Central until someone takes it.

Is the audience the same in every edition?

No. North End, West End and East & South are mostly houses. Central carries roughly 36% apartments and 13% businesses, which is a different mix and may suit a different offer.

Do I need to design my ad?

No. Design is included. You provide your logo, your offer and your details, and you receive a proof for approval before anything is printed.

Can I advertise in more than one area?

Yes. You can buy any combination of editions, or citywide, subject to your category being available in each one. Two or three areas are priced at the single-edition rate for each area. Citywide is all four in the same mailing for three times the single-edition rate.

Can I reserve future editions?

Yes, and it is worth doing if you want to keep your category. A category only closes to competitors once it is paid for, so booking the next edition at the same time is the only way to hold it.

Can I track how my ad performs?

Yes. We can include a unique trackable QR code with your ad and send you a results summary after the mailing. If you already use website analytics, we can point the code at a tagged URL so the traffic shows up in your own reports. QR scans measure engagement with the code itself, not every response to your ad — someone may call you, search for your business, type your website in directly, or simply walk in, and none of that appears in scan data.

Do you guarantee leads or sales?

No. We provide advertising design and physical distribution. Campaign performance varies by business, offer, market and other factors, and anyone who promises you a response rate is guessing.

Do I have to book a call?

No. The whole process runs by email and web form — check availability, choose your edition and placement, reserve, send your details, approve the proof. A call is available if you want one, but nothing requires it.

See if your category is still open.

No call required. Tell us your category and which parts of Peterborough you want, and we reply by email with what is available.

If your category is already taken for an edition we will say so, and tell you which editions still have it, along with what the placement costs.

Prefer plain email? Write to hello@mumfordmailco.ca. Or call 705-761-3089.
